Aw, remember the good old days?
Though the parents of Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 17 months, have always been seen around town looking happy and busy and going to an acupuncturist, the two announced they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage in a joint statement on Monday, the split “was a long time coming,” an insider tells Us of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. Us reports:
“It only looks sudden, but everything was worked out months ago so paperwork could be filed and the marriage could be ended quickly and easily.”
The insider says that despite problems in the marriage, the Voice mentor, 45, and the rocker, 49, tried to save their union after the birth of their third son. “Things were rocky before then but they tried to make the marriage work,” the source tells Us. “But it just couldn’t. A lot of the feeling was gone.”
Still, even friends were surprised by the announcement. One shocked insider tells Us that Stefani recently “seemed very happy and was gushing about her life with four boys.” The insider continues that there were “no signs” a split was imminent.
